As I continue to get updates from Nicaragua on the development of the National Centre, I thought each of you who worked on teams in Nicaragua at the end of 2017 and early 2018 would be interested in seeing the progress.
Over the course of the year, the Nicaraguan church has continued construction at the National Centre, focusing their efforts on the construction of dormitories being constructed on the back side of the wall at the the auditorium where the platform is. Their goal is to be able to offer bunk beds in mosquito-free rooms for 120 people to sleep. Those of us who were there in February last year will remember how they put something like 100 foam mattresses on the floor of the Auditorium for people to sleep during the conference. They hope to have the dormitories ready for use by this coming February, 2019.
Nicaraguan Church President, German Garcia has kept me updated on progress, the work they have done during this difficult year of unrest in the country, utilizing resources raised in Nicaragua. Work has slowed now as they have spent the money they had raised for it. Since this is an approved project for us to support in Canada, I am encouraging people from our churches to give toward this need. No pressure; however I want to make you aware of the need and ask for you to consider giving toward it. If you’re unable to give, or choose not to, that is no problem at all. You have already been a generous partner with us in our work together with the church in Nicaragua. We appreciate you.
