The Network is a connection of congregations who eagerly desire to become the presence of Jesus into our communities. Some of us meet as congregations that gather every weekend for worship and teaching, while others meet in smaller faith communities throughout the week. Our passion is common – empowering Christ-followers to become actively engaged in mission outside of the walls.

Five identity markers

Relational Gospel

Jesus challenged people to engage not with a religious system but with a person—to move from mindlessly following a set of rules to showing authentic love for those around them. That is the message of Jesus, and it is the message we proclaim and seek to live out every day. Our core values express our desire to lives as Christ-followers in every facet of life.

Compassionate Mission

We are a connection of congregations who eagerly desire to become the presence of Jesus into our communities. While all churches will utilize buildings and some may own facilities, the buildings do not define our ministries. Rather than focusing all energies on attracting people to a building, we are focused on empowering Christ-followers to become actively engaged in mission outside of the walls.

Collaborative Partnership

Churches in The Network are part of a collaborative team. Beyond sharing identity of message and mission, churches and pastors are eager to encourage and resource one another in various ways…sharing of best practices, dedicated internet resourcing for and among pastors, Network-wide resource events for church leaders and pastors, and telling the story of God-at-work in each location.

Generous Resourcing

Churches in the Network have a reputation for generosity. Each church is known as a place of generosity within their local community and also to the world. In recognition of their collaborative partnership, Network churches are consistent and generous partners with the larger BIC partnership, a team we are proud to be a part of.

Activating Leaders

Leadership is a vital element in Network churches. Pastors in The Network are known for their pervasive commitment to Jesus and a leadership that is creative, empowering, mission-focused, and models incarnational engagement with the local community and the world. Pastors, as leaders of local churches, embrace the collaborative spirit of The Network.

reflect who we are in The Network. And as a movement, we embrace the values and vision of BIC Canada and share vision, strategies, ministry models, peer-to-peer relationships, best practices, and resources. Increasingly, existing churches who find a common passion for BIC core values and vision are joining this movement. Church planters and locations are being identified for the launching of new churches within The Network. And a new expression of church known as Life Communities, is being formed to bring the incredible news of Jesus into our communities.
